well. Also, make sure you ask him why you should choose him to build your luxury pool over somebody else.

photos of previous luxury pools that they have built and previous luxury  pool designs that they have come up with. Then, ask them if they have
any references in the Woodlands and Woodforest area from within the past decade. If possible, call the homeowners and ask to see their pools.

Other things to ask include whether the pool builder actually stands by his warranty and whether he has a special staff available for pool maintenance in the future.

and insured with the Better Business Bureau, and whether he follows the  codes in the Woodlands and Lake Conroe. Also, do not forget to read the
final contract before signing it. Good luck!

FAQ’s …your not alone!

We  at spring pool builder have decided to put into your hands some of the most “FAQ’s”. These are just five of them but hopefully they will help you get some answers.

Question: I am considering getting a salt system.  What is the environmental impact of the salt water?  Are there any regulations regarding discharge of salt water from back washing, etc.?

Answer: Saltwater pools work on a very low level of salt, approximately 10% of sea water’s concentration.  The average salt pool discharges only a fraction of the salt levels that a standard water softener discharges.  This is easily verified by counting the number of salt bags that need to be added to a salt pool annually versus the number of bags that get added to a standard water softener.

Question: How many hours per day should I run my pool pump?

Answer: Depending on the horsepower of your pump, the gallons per minute your system can handle, you then can determine how many hours the pump needs to run in order to create turnover at least once per day and 1.5 times a day is even better For example a 15,000 gallon pool with a circulation system that provides 45 gpm (gallons per minute) would turn the water over in 5.5 hours Runnung the system 6 hours per day would be adequate

Question: How can I tell how many gallons of water my pool holds?

Answer: Simple formula of: Lenght of your pool times the width, times the average depth times 7.48. Length x Width x Avg. Depth x 7.48 = Volume. I.E 15′ x 30′ Rectangle that is 3′ to 6′ deep equates to a pool volume of 15,147 gallons.  Calculated as follows:15 x 30 x 4.5 x 7.48 the 4.5 is the average depth based on 3′ & 6′, add the two together to get 9, divide by 2 for average depth of 4.5

Question: Do I have to drain my pool to change the light bulb?

Answer: No, providing the light fixture was installed properly. Most modern day pool light fixtures are self contained in a housing that is recessed in the pool wall in what we call a light niche, that light fixture if properly installed would have enough cord wrapped around the light to allow the fixture to be removed and pulled out of the water onto the pool deck. At that point the fixture can be dissasembled to replace the bulb, the gasket that seals the light from water should also be replaced at the same time.

Question: How often do I need to clean my filter?

Answer: Most people would answer this question by starting off with “it depends”. Yes all pool filters are different, all pools have different bather loads, environmental exposures and different maintenance habits but, they all share one commonality which is: Clean you filter when ever the pressure guage reads 10psi than the clean pressure. So how do you determine the clean pressure? Simple, immediately after cleaning your filter weather it is sand, cartridge or a DE filter take note of what the filter pressure guage reads after the pool pump comes to a full prime. Whatever that number may be, that is your clean filter pressure, whenever it gets 10 psi higher then its time to clean it again.I personally would add to the above rule that you should clean your filter whenever the psi reaches 10 higher than the clean psi or every 30 days, whichever comes first.

How to Find a Good Pool Builder in Spring

Since swimming pools are big investments, it would be incredibly important for you to hire a trustworthy builder pool in Spring to get yours done. And remember: you won’t be able to get the swimming pool you have always dreamed of if you don’t find a contractor that is accredited and has a good history of work.

Besides, a qualified pool builder in Spring can help you pick out the perfect swimming pool for you and your family, as well. He will also be able to tell you how much work you can look forward to when it comes to your pool’s maintenance and let you know beforehand how much your pool installation will cost overall.

If you have a list of what you can actually afford or have an idea of how much inconvenience you wouldn’t mind putting up with while your pool is being installed, make sure you talk to your contractor about these things, too. On that note, make sure you talk about the materials that are going to be used and what kind of features you want your swimming pool to have, as well. This way, you can ensure that you are on the same page come installation time.

Now, there are several basic things that you will need to find out before signing any contracts, though. First of all, you have to find out how long your pool builder has been in the business, so you can ensure that he actually has the experience needed to properly install a swimming pool to begin with.

Next, find out what his company’s reputation is like in Spring. Do you know anybody in the neighborhood who has contracted him and has raved about his work? If not, then you might want to ask your pool builder for some references first.

And remember: you won’t be able to get the swimming pool you have always dreamed of if you don’t find a contractor that is accredited and has a good history of work. If you have found yourself a quality contractor, then he should be proud of the work that he has done and won’t have any qualms providing you with the information that you need. If your pool builder in Spring refuses to provide any references, though, then he is probably hiding something, so avoid using him at all costs.

Depending on your budget and personal preferences, you can opt for an inexpensive basic swimming pool or an expensive and elaborate one. Either way, though, your pool builder in Spring should work with you, as well as make suggestions without pressuring you into adding things that you cannot afford.
